2013 Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival

The lineup for the 2013 Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival is headed to the PNW and the headliners are Alice in Chains and Jane’s Addiction, two ’90s alt-rock goliaths who are still going strong.

Joining Alice in Chains and Jane’s Addiction on the Main Stage are Coheed and Cambria and Circa Survive. Meanwhile, the Festival Stage will feature Walking Papers, the supergroup comprised of bassist Duff McKagan (ex-Guns N’ Roses), drummer Barrett Martin (ex-Screaming Trees), singer-guitarist Jeff Angell (The Missionary Position) and keyboardist Benjamin Anderson (The Missionary Position).

The Festival Stage will also include Danko Jones, Middle Class Rut, New Politics and last year’s Uproar battle of the bands winner, Chuck Shaffer Picture Show.

In an interview with the Uproar website, Alice in Chains expressed their excitement on heading out on the rode with Jane’s Addiction. “We wanted to go out with another really great band,” explained singer-guitarist Jerry Cantrell. “Jane’s Addiction is a band we’ve always really admired. I remember during our early days those guys would come through town. They were so f—ing badass..”

Adds AIC drummer Sean Kinney of Jane’s Addiction, “They’re a game changer. They made a couple of classic records that hold up. Once again, there’s nobody like them.”

As previously reported, the Uproar Festival kicks off Aug. 9 in Scranton, Pa., and runs through a Sept. 15 show in Irvine, Calif. See the full list of dates below, as well as a promo video featuring the bands talking about the fest.
