Under Sin is running at full steam and ready to take the world by storm. These guys have got that certain something that has been present in all the great Seattle bands; powerful grungy riffs paired with almost pop like melodies that will get under your skin and have you singing them for days! I experienced this first hand when I had the opportunity to spend the day at Robert Lang Studios with the guys. During my visit, they were laying down guitar & vocal tracks for their upcoming single ‘Misery’. I was totally blown away.  You can experience the single for yourself when they unleash ‘Misery’ on the world during their appearance on the Bob Rivers show (KJR 95.7 FM), January 8th. On top of being hard at work on the single Under Sin is also currently in the process of signing with Scott McKinley and Cavi Gold Records.

Just who is this Under Sin, I’m raving about you ask? Well Under Sin is an alternative rock band out of Tacoma that is fronted by Steven James on vocals and guitar, Tom Simpkins on bass & Aaron Burckhard on drums. That last name sound familiar? It should, if you know anything about Seattle music history. Aaron is the original drummer for a little band known as Nirvana. While Under Sin definitely has that Nirvana influence, they are far from another half assed attempt to be the “next Nirvana”. Steven once told me “We only play covers of Nirvana covers because if we covered Nirvana Kurt would kick our ass!”.

Now you don’t have to take my word for it but I highly recommend keeping an eye and definitely an ear on this band. If you are an impatient person, like myself, and can’t wait until the Bob Rivers show to hear these guys go look them up on Reverbnation for some older tunes. Also find them on Facebook, Twitter and all those social media pages to keep up to date on all things Under Sin.
