HANK3 @ SHOWBOX AT THE MARKET – BROTHERS OF THE 4X4 and punk rock album A FIENDISH THREAT

Somewhere outside Nashville, Tennessee sits a place where the ghosts of country music legends don’t have to weep into their beers over the despicable current state of Music Row, where the spectres of Joey and Dee Dee Ramone can comfortably have a drink with John Bonham and Jimi Hendrix and know that someone still doesn’t give a good goddamn for the rules. All those old boys can sit back, enjoy some new music being made, and let the weight of innovation slide off their shoulders for a minute, because there are still a few true originals left, and one of them, Hank 3, is working non-stop in his Haunted Ranch studio abode doing the hard work, creating the real deal- rebel music for rebel fans. This time it’s a triple threat- a double country album called “Brothers of the 4×4′ and a blazing punk rock record titled “A Fiendish Threat”.

Hank 3 roared into the Showbox at the Market in downtown Seattle and put it on a capacity crowd Tuesday night. HANK3’s career has doubled as a sort of crusade in which he breaks all the rules of country music while somehow managing to honor its traditions at the same time. His music is filled with amazing chord switches, out of this world slide guitar solos and some mad fiddles in the midst of it all.

With no opening acts “3” took to the stage with a colossal 50+ song set which encompassed both BROTHERS OF THE 4X4 and punk rock album A FIENDISH THREAT. Faster than a striped assed ape, 3 and the Damn Band cranked out song after power packed song keeping the packed Showbox crowd energized and screaming for more. Powering through songs like “There’s Another Road” and “Broke Jaw” it was clear the 3 don’t play, actually, I reckon he may have quit school ’cause of recess.

It really doesn’t matter if you want to sing, dance, get drunk, mosh, head bang, or sit back and watch the show, Hank 3 will have something for you. These guys give their all each night that they hit the stage. If you’re a country rebel, outlaw, punk, metal head, or doom metal fan Hank 3 and the Damn Band will not let you down. I recommend that you jump on the Hellbilly bandwagon and hold on loosely but don’t let go… its one hell of a ride.
