Amadon Live at the Crocodile in Seattle

Amadon is a group that is gaining massive attention and exposure from all the right people in the music scene. Though they routinely work gigs in and around the Seattle area it was their performance this past weekend at the Crocodile that really has people taking notice. Opening for one of the hottest bands in Seattle, The Crying Spell, only seemed to solidify Amadon as being one of the next Seattle based bands to possibly break onto the national scene.  This, in my opinion, was their breakout performance and was nothing short of awesome.

Amadon was loud, fast and fun from start to finish. Taking their live performance to a completely new level, Amadon front man Calen Tackett put on a truly inspired performance. He was clearly feeding off the energy from the sold out, standing room only crowd as he proceeded to absolutely blow the roof off the joint with an incredible live performance… Ok, let me digress a little bit here. This was not, in anyway, a one man show. Ashley on guitar, Daine on the drums and Beau on the bass were a well oiled, fine tuned face melting machine.

Tackett’s vocals are superb… really above par. Clean and melodic, even when really, really loud. Holscher combines with Tackett for super-sized guitar sound. Tackett isn’t just strumming basic chords, he owns the guitar and when you combine that with the pure shredbility of Holscher its a lights out, game over, winner-winner chicken dinner sound.  The one thing that really took hold of me was the ridiculous skill of Bambico behind the drums. This dude can lay it down with the best in the business. He, Bambico, was strong, hard hitting and on time all night.

The folks over at Mental Itch Music Group clearly know talent when they see it. Amadon is a complete package compiled of killer riffs, catchy hooks and hard hitting rhythms built for the radio. Their brand of music appeals to the masses and it is only a matter of time before they are on their way. They are clearly poised and ready to take the next step and as they say… They are Amadon and they are here to stay.
