The Requisite are a total DIY/Indie band from Seattle and They are about to drop a new EP

Started in 2009 by front man Maxwell Royce, “The Requisite” was his outlet for creating original Indie Rock music after departing from his previous endeavor. Though many members came and went along the way, Chris Young (Bass) and Jack Love (Drums) filled out the rhythm section in 2010, and the current lineup was finalized in 2013 with the addition of Matt Houghton (Lead Guitar). The Requisite hit the local circuit with force and verve, and completed a Northwest Regional Tour shortly after debuting Polaroid in 2014. Never ones for downtime, they went straight to work on their sophomore follow-up, Squared, releasing May 8, 2015.

The Requisite are a total DIY/Indie band who wrote, arranged, produced, recorded, and mixed this record as well as coordinated the album design, packaging and distribution. The group is the definition of DIY as they book their own shows, design their own merch, man their merch table, and coordinate all their promotions.

It’s a lot of hard work, and it’s a labor of love

The group is gearing up to release their sophomore EP titled ‘Squared’ which will be thrown down live during their CD Release show at the High Dive on May 8th. The band has put together an awesome lineup of local acts for that show which include American Island, Northern Shakedown, Kye Alfred Hillig. So grab your tickets and get ready for a night of exciting music with a killer lineup of local talent!

The CD Release show is Friday May 8th and Tickets can be purchased via Brown Paper Tickets for $8.00 or pay $10.00 at the door. Music starts at 9pm.
